Week one...potholes, rain, bugs, and more rain

pitter-patter...pitter-Patter...Pitter-Patter...PITTER-PATTER. The sound of rain falling on an aluminum shelled camper...being echoed...and amplified...day after day after day. But I digress.

The first week of our three month road trip is in the books. We're now in Acadia National Park, having stayed the early part of the trip outside of Freeport Maine.

Before the trip even started we had a last minute emergency. The day before we left Nancy managed to hit a pothole with her Model S. After having it towed to the service center the verdict...two new rims, one new tire, one new control arm, one new brake line, and one new air suspension module. Ouch. On the good side, it's not the vehicle we were using to go on our trip. Also if your car is going to be in the shop might as well be when you're out of town and don't need it.

That's a rear wheel.  They don't steer or bend inward normally ๐Ÿ˜ž

Moving on to the actual trip. As the title suggests it's been a bit wet and buggy. In Freeport we arrived with the rain. And when the rain left the bugs arrived making outdoor activities “buggy”.

Arrival day in Acadia it was one of the few recent days without rain. The problem was that rains had led to an explosion in the mosquito population. The only way to be outside was with DEET and long sleeves/pants. The other way was to run and not stop, so they can catch you! Good thing I like to run.

Tesla miscellaneous
Supercharger stops in Tarrytown NY, Milford CT, Auburn MA, Kennebunk ME, Freeport ME, Augusta ME, and Brewer ME. Freeport and Brewer were more convenience stops than required stops since we had the ability to charge at the campground. We lucked out and did not have to unhitch at any of the stops ๐Ÿ˜€

Bowlus miscellaneous
The add on rain cover for the front porch has been a godsend. Gives us a place to dry off the dogs and keep the stuff outside without getting wet.

Nancy usually is last in bed and turns off the lights. She has this bad habit of turning off all the power to the trailer (top switch) instead of the light switch (bottom switch). I finally had enough of it.

The ability to use the shower outdoors is great for cleaning people and dogs
