Angry birds and angry clouds

They say one or two glasses of wine a day is good for you. On the other hand several bottles, every day makes you a raging alcoholic. The same thing can be said about nature. A few birds visiting you everyday is pleasant. Light showers making melodious sounds, inside the trailer, every now and then is very relaxing. On the other hand birds pounding their beaks, feet, and wings against the roof of your bedroom every sunrise for hours. Or torrential downpours of rain day after day after day. Both can make you a raging alcoholic. I've commented on this before, but for some reason birds really like our trailer. They especially like banging on it hour after hour after hour. Usually starting at sunrise. We're speculating that they see another bird in the reflection and are trying to battle it or mate with it. In either case it's getting really annoying.  El Diablo As for the rain...at least it keeps things cool and the bugs away while it&#

A contrast in camp sites

Campgrounds like hotels come in all different shapes and sizes. Public vs private. Spaced out vs packed like sardines. Convenient vs off the beaten path. All sorts of electrical/water/sewer permutations. Our preferred destination campgrounds are quiet, slightly off the beaten path, in a natural setting, where sites are spaced out. Typically these types of parks are public parks (National Parks, US Forest Parks, State Parks, Corp of Engineer Lakes, County Parks). Although occasionally we'll find a private park that meets the criteria. Unfortunately sometimes getting to the a destination requires a stop over at a “not preferred” campground😟Here's some pictures from preferred campgrounds. You can see a theme: green, secluded Now here's an overnight stop we made. Not our type of campground. Notice the moon bounce full of screaming kids next to us.  The same screaming kids we had to avoid running over as we pulled in.   An

Week one...potholes, rain, bugs, and more rain

pitter-patter... pitter-Patter ... Pitter-Patter ... PITTER-PATTER . The sound of rain falling on an aluminum shelled camper...being echoed...and amplified...day after day after day. But I digress. The first week of our three month road trip is in the books. We're now in Acadia National Park, having stayed the early part of the trip outside of Freeport Maine. Before the trip even started we had a last minute emergency. The day before we left Nancy managed to hit a pothole with her Model S. After having it towed to the service center the verdict...two new rims, one new tire, one new control arm, one new brake line, and one new air suspension module. Ouch. On the good side, it's not the vehicle we were using to go on our trip. Also if your car is going to be in the shop might as well be when you're out of town and don't need it. That's a rear wheel.  They don't steer or bend inward normally 😞 Moving on to the actual trip
